Booked Inca Trail Trek Today!

Wow, it has been a hectic last two days!
Yesterday, much to my surprise, I found out I need a visa to enter Brazil, my first destination!
I started freaking out of course, and realized that the consulate that has jurisdiction over Colorado is in Texas! Holy moly! How was I gonna get my visa in time? I leave in 2 weeks!!!!!!!! Well, freaking out did me no good, and since I couldn't do anything yesterday afternoon about it, I waited until this morning.
So I woke up and called the Consulate in Houston. Boy, was the man that I talked to rude! He was not helpful at all, and kept telling me that I needed to read the website (which I had, many times) and that I was not the ONLY one getting a visa. Everyone wanted to go to Brazil. Duh. On top of that, he had 6 other calls that were on hold that he needed to attend to. So then he hung up on me. Very productive.
Moving forward, I then attempted to go and collect all the necessary materials for my visa application. First stop: The Bank to get certain forms notarized. Luckily that went smoothly.
Second stop: Walgreens to get my passport photos. Well, it was more like a second, third, and fourth stop. I had to go to 3 different Walgreens to get the damn pictures because the first two places had machines that were broken. Just my luck. Finally got them.
Third stop: Post office to send off everything. Got it all taken care of.Got overnight express mail. And then went home to finally have some lunch.
Once I got home, I started making some lunch and realized all of a sudden that I HAD NOT included the postal money orders for the visa fees! As Napoleon Dynamite would say, IDIOT! How could I forget the visa fees???? That is the most important part!!!!! So i quickly rushed to the post office to try and retrieve the package, praying to all the mighty gods that it had not already been put away in some bin to be sent out! Luckily, it hadn't, so the postal worker retrieved it and opened up the package so that I could put the money orders in. When trying to pay for the money orders, my debit card would not work, so again, I had to leave the post office and go to the bank. Once at the bank, I was going to go to the ATM, but lucky me, it was being fixed. So I had to go into the bank and withdraw money. Finally, went back to the post office. The postal worker went over everything with me so that I would be 100% sure that I had everything this time.
So I finally went home at 3:30 pm to eat my lunch. Ugghhhhhhhhhh.
Next step: wait for my visa. Hope that I get it before I leave, cuz if not, I ain't leaving on the 12th!

More news: On a positive note,I also just finished booking my Inca trail trek for March 2nd with Matt. I'm excited! At least that went smoothly!
